Sausage Hoagie Recipe

PREP TIME:  20 Minutes

SERVES: Four

INGREDIENTS:

Hoagie

  • 4 sausages (Italian or bratwurst)

  • 4 buns

  • 1 Lakeside Red Bell Pepper

  • 1 Lakeside Yellow Bell Pepper

  • 1 RealSweet Vidalia Onion

  • 1 Tbsp Olive Oil

  • Salt and pepper

Sauce

  • 1 cup Greek yogurt

  • 8 garlic cloves

  • 3 Tbsp lemon juice

  • 1 tsp onion powder

  • 4 Tbsp olive oil

  • Salt

PREPARATION

Mix the garlic in a bowl with some salt and mash until it forms a paste. Mix with yogurt, lemon juice, olive oil and onion powder. Chill.

Preheat grill to medium heat.

Loosely slice onions and peppers. Add to a bowl and toss with olive oil, salt, and pepper.

Place the sausage directly on the grill and cook 5-7 minutes per side.

Place the veggies in a grill basket or carefully place on grill and cook until they’re soft with a nice char.

Assemble your hoagies by placing a sausage in each bun, topping with grilled veggies and garlic sauce.
